Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center
Established in July 5,1954, the NAPWC is a nature park located at Quezon Ave. Elliptical Road. It was first called the “Lungsod ng Kabataan Recreational Park” in February 21, 1983. It was renamed as “Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center” in the year 1986 to honor the late president Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.
NAPWC is a huge, green open space with a very affordable entrance cost, just P5.00 for children and P8.00 for adults. There is also adequate parking space with affordable fees: P25.00 for buses, P15.00 for cars and jeepneys, and P8.00 for motorcycles and tricycles.
If you want to relax or have a brief escape from work and busy cityscape, visiting this place is highly recommended. If you’re an outdoor lover, an environmental educator or just a person who loves nature, this is the perfect place for you . You can do pretty much anything you want here. From having a picnic with your special someone or your family, having a dance rehearsal with classmates, taking pictures, hanging out with friends or just walking around to enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful scenery. It’s a fun way to enjoy nature on a lazy weekend afternoon.
Relaxing under the shade of old native trees is refreshing and invigorating. Kids will also enjoy this place because there’s a playground, there's ice cream at almost every corner of the park. People should also know that the NAPWC is also a nursing center for different animal species - from birds, four-legged reptiles to huge snakes. In 1987, the park was placed under the administration of the Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau (PAWB). The bureau is put in charge of rescuing and taking care of the endangered species from illegal traders and owners. After the animals are healed in the park, they are set free back to their natural habitats in the wild.
